For us, it’s not just about helping students learn effectively. It’s about helping students love learning — to see it as something they can do inside the classroom and out, no matter the challenges they face. That’s why we focus on addressing the core challenges associated with dyslexia, while, at the same time, helping students uncover and develop their strengths.
Dyslexia is a common learning disorder, affecting 20% of the general population and 80-90% of individuals with learning disabilities. Students with dyslexia have a hard time identifying the sounds associated with the letters they see. While they may recognize the name of the letter, they may not be able to identify the sound the letter makes in a word. Remediation works by teaching students how to identify the sounds associated with each letter, and how to blend them into words.
